For outdoor events, it’s best to use slightly heavier or more structured fabrics that won’t shift or crease in the wind. A sturdy base tablecloth helps keep everything looking neat, while lighter fabrics can still be used for runners or decorative layers.

Soft whites, ivory tones, and matte fabrics tend to photograph beautifully because they reflect light evenly without glare. A subtle texture can also add depth, helping tables look polished in both natural daylight and indoor lighting.

Polyester blends and heavier linen fabrics are great for long events because they resist creasing and stay smooth throughout the day. This helps your tables look tidy from the ceremony through to the reception.

Start by measuring the table, then add twice the drop length you want. A full drop to the floor creates a formal look, while shorter drops work well for relaxed or outdoor settings.

Lightweight, breathable fabrics are ideal for warm weather. Linen blends and lighter colours help reflect heat and keep tables looking fresh and comfortable in outdoor conditions.

Measure the size of your table. Then decide how far you want the cloth to hang over the edge.
Add that hanging length to both sides.
Example:
If your table is 180 cm wide and you want the cloth to hang 30 cm down, add 60 cm. You need a 240 cm tablecloth. A cloth that reaches the floor looks formal. A shorter hang is great for casual or outdoor events.

Measure across the middle of the table (this is the diameter). Then decide how far you want the cloth to hang down. Add the hanging length twice to the diameter.
Example:
If your round table is 150 cm wide and you want the cloth to hang 30 cm down, add 60 cm. You need a 210 cm tablecloth.
